Full Squash Return from Monday

Dear [[firstname]]

Brilliant news! This week, the UK Government announced that we will move to Step 3 of the COVID-19 Response – Spring ‘21 Roadmap on Monday 17 May. We have now received confirmation from Sport England and England Squash that we can reintroduce full court squash for adults and juniors from Monday 17th May.

Players can get on court with different households and play full court squash e.g best of five with tie-breaks, and singles and doubles (squash bubbles and modified versions not required). The maximum number of players on court allowed are 4 adults or children (for non-coach led sessions).
Coach-led sessions can take place in any number (within the maximum venue capacity limit) but the maximum number of players on court allowed is 4 adults or 6 children. Coaches are allowed on court and are not included in the total number of players on court.

Coaches can provide Out-of-School Setting activities to all children (6 max per court), with no restrictions on the total number in attendance.

Spectators are allowed to return, but must observe maximum of six people or two households as well as social distancing rules and wear face coverings when not on court.

Do I have to follow any safety protocols?
Yes. You must continue to observe current UK Government advice on COVID-19 for your own health and safety, and everyone at your club/venue. Key things to remember are:

Maintain social distancing off court.
Wear a face covering off court.
Wash your hands before and after you play.

Note booking time slots are for 40 minutes for Squash. Please respect this to ensure the safety of other members. 20 minutes in between each session allows the air to settle. Spot checks will be carried out to ensure that these time slots are adhered too. Please remember to clean all touch points after playing or coaching using the cleaning products provided.

Showers will re-open. We are opening 2 showers in the Men’s and 1 shower in the Ladies changing facilities.

Max persons allowed in the Male changing room is 4

Max persons allowed in the Female changing room is 2

We have extended the court opening times on a Mon, Wed, Thur & Fri. Last Court will be 8.20pm. The bar will be open on these days so your support would be much appreciated.

Please remember to sign in using the book provided in the foyer or scan the QR Code provided by the Booking Kiosk in the Court Corridor.

Over the next couple of weeks we shall be introducing both Squash and Racketball internal Leagues so keep a look out for the invitation.

Once again I would like to thank everyone for their continued support and patience over the last 12 – 18 months. Things have been extremely difficult but with the support of you all we can now get the Club back to its former glory days.

I look forward to seeing you all on court very soon.

Regards

Shaun Watkin
