BMSA Rackets Meeting

Evening all

Following the rackets section meeting held on the 11th Feb the following points were raised;

- The club is still struggling financially and we would ask all members to try and support in any way possible, such as organising social nights or handing out fliers. Chantelle has designed a flier and if you can hand any out, either in your neighbourhood or at your kids schools then please ask for some at the bar.

- The club council have done a good job in reducing the costs to the club to the point where we were in credit at the end of 2024, in comparison to running at a deficit in 2023. We still have very little in the bank and directors are having to loan money to the club to cover bills, so we need to continue to increase revenue coming into the club.

- The sale of the field is progressing so we expect to have some funds coming in from this sale.

- I will be stepping down as rackets rep and Alan McDonald was voted in as the new rep. I will be arranging a meeting with Al in the next week or two to do a hand over.

- Points which were raised at the meeting and I will be discussing with Al are, the potential to change membership fees to encourage new members. Look at the option of junior squash/racketball coaching and long term options ideas for the survival of racket sports.

If you have any queries then please contact me.

Kind regards

Andy
