Dear Members,
Unfortunately our fixed-term membership model that ran from Oct-Oct has proved incompatible with the trend of new members joining mid-way through the year, and when those member's subscriptions were not renewed by 14th October, their door cards were deactivated (as previously communicated).
This has proved to be a bad way of handling those mid-year joiners, so I have asked Dom to reactivate all door cards ASAP. I apologise for the inconvenience this has caused people.
I have now changed MyCourts so that all memberships are on a rolling 12-month basis. If you join on 12th July, for example, your renewal date will be 12th July the following year.
MyCourts will automatically restrict access to the booking sheets if memberships lapse. We have yet to figure out how Dom can manage aligning door card validity with MyCourts, but we shall tread more carefully.
BMSA's subscription period as a club still runs from Oct to Oct, so sport prices will align to that - e.g. from 1st Oct 2026, individual memberships are £45, family is £90, new joiners £20 (for first year only), and court hire is £8. If you join or renew after 1st Oct 2026, those are the prices due.
If you were affected by door cards being deactivated after 14th October and you were within your current 12 month subscription, I apologise that our old membership model was not communicated clearly enough, and without proper consideration of the impact this might have. Contact Gav or myself if you weren't able to attend a booked session because of this.
